School Land Trust Report

It is the focus of Heartland Elementary to increase the number of students reaching proficiency and/or showing growth on the end-of-year testing by:

  1. Hiring Instructional Assistants to support instruction within the school setting.  The assistants will be assigned to work with low performing students to provide research-based interventions.  Progress will be monitored each week and discussed during PLC meetings.
  2. Offering Professional Development to support teachers in the Core Curriculum, Turn Around process, and behavior/social research-based strategies.  Specifically, teachers will focus on improving Tier I instruction.  Ongoing feedback to teachers will be provided by administration and coaches.  Teachers will utilize professional development time to identify essential learning concepts and plan common formative assessments.
  3. Purchasing any needed materials to support increased student learning, including professional books for teachers.
